“The Wing and the Wheel” – August 2025
This is a cover of “Wing and the Wheel” originally written and recorded by Grammy-winning folk artist Nanci Griffith. The lyrics and music tell a story of how we grow up amid the hustle and bustle of modern life, to where we eventually leave our youth (and even our most fervent dreams) behind. This is symbolized in part by the wings of plane travel and the wheels of auto trips that can sweep us along to new faces and new places (a new job, a new place to live…) along our life journey. The cover carries forward this theme from the original, yet with some added groove through the addition of a drum kit, piano, and synthesizer. (The song’s release date is August 1st, 2025.)
“I Just Want to Say” – June 2025
“I Just Want to Say” is a ballad about a man and a woman whose friendship blossoms into romance, yet neither of them is sure how or when to make the first move to consummate the romance. The ballad culminates in a chorus where one of them ultimately expresses their passion to be with the other.
The genesis of the ballad was an 8-bar melody on piano. A few years later the other instruments were added, followed by the lyrics to tell the story flowing through the music. (The song’s release date is June 28th, 2025.)
“Love Me Do” – February 2025
This “Love Me Do” cover, released in February 2025 through various musical outlets online, is a more electrified, groovin’ version of the Beatles’ original. While I typically listen to the Beatles’ later music, such as from the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album onward, “Love Me Do” has been one of the standouts for me among the group’s earlier music. I first heard the original “Love Me Do” when I was around 7 or 8 years old, on a vinyl disc of Introducing…The Beatles–the group’s first studio album released in the U.S. in 1964 (one of my older family members got the album around that time). What drew me to the song was the sweet Lennon-McCartney vocals in harmony with the bluesy harmonica and swing-ish drums.
The cover includes the basic melody of the harmonica that’s on the Beatles’ original, yet voices it through electric guitar performed by the talented award-winning guitarist Brent Mason. This is complemented with the lush sound of a Hammond organ synth. In sum, the cover pays homage to the Beatles’ endearing musical legacy while adding a more electrified, groovin’ twist to the original song.
“Love at the Five and Dime” – July 2023
“Love at the Five and Dime” is a 4-minute song about a couple named Eddie and Rita, whose love for each other emerges while Eddie visits a Woolworth’s store that Rita works at. Yet their relationship becomes uncertain, as Eddie struggles between his love for Rita and his music career.
It’s a tribute to the late Nanci Griffith (1953-2021)—the Grammy-winning “folkabilly” artist who originally wrote the song and who has been one of my main folk music influences over the years.
This is a remix of an earlier version of the cover song. The release date of the song as a single is July 6th, 2023 on music streaming and download services; some of the popular services as such are linked to via the icons above to the right of the main menu.

“The Lord’s Prayer” (Remix) – March 2022
I’ve traditionally been a rock musician, while occasionally the tender mercies of folk and inspirational music balance it out. This culminated in the release of a single in 2021 called “The Lord’s Prayer,” which is a modern folk music version of The Lord’s Prayer found in the Bible (Matthew 6:9-13). I recited the prayer over the years, yet recently decided to put it to music.
The prayer has been adapted to music before by others, such as in the form of a traditional church hymn or a contemporary Christian song, including music with lyrics loosely based on the prayer. I sought to put it to modern folk music, with the lyrics verbatim with the prayer and the music more hip yet humble as can be done with folk music. This is taking into account that the prayer has traditionally been a sincere prayer, so it would be appropriate to have a song fairly consistent with that.
In 2022, I decided to release a remixed version of the song, that is, “The Lord’s Prayer” (Remix). The remixed version features Grammy Award-winning guitarist Brent Mason, and it is complemented by a lyric video on YouTube.
The cover art for the remixed version (shown below) depicts a painting called “Sermon on the Mount,” by celebrated Danish painter Carl Bloch (1834-1890). The sermon would have occurred around the time and place that Jesus would have introduced The Lord’s Prayer to his disciples.

“Snow Angels” (Remix) – November 2021
“Snow Angels” (Remix) is a festive song for the winter holidays. This is a remix of the original version of the song released several years ago; the remix is set for release on November 15th, 2021. It features Grammy Award-winning guitarist Brent Mason, and Canadian Juno Award-nominated musician Annabelle Chvostek on mandolin. The song is complimented by a stop-motion animated music video on YouTube.
